Sharp Rise in Activity and Premiums in SBA Secondary Market Reported on GovGex.com™ Following Obama Small Business Stimulus Announcement
SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - March 31, 2009) - Edgeware Analytics' secondary market for government guaranteed small business loans, GovGex.com, has reported an activity spike following the March 17th unveiling by President Obama and Treasury Secretary Geithner of their $15 billion plan to bolster SBA liquidity.
In the 7 days since the plan was unveiled, GovGex had an 11-fold increase in the daily number of loans offered for sale relative to the prior 90 days. Premiums have shown a significant upward trend. According to Brian O'Boyle of GovGex.com, loans with the most desired structure are receiving premiums exceeding 105%, compared with 101-102% premiums during the preceding 90 day period. O'Boyle cautions that loan parameters are dramatically influencing premiums. For instance, in the same period, one optimally structured loan secured a 106% bid while another loan received a high bid of only 0.3% over par.
GovGex helps lenders attract the highest premiums by providing the GovGex Independent Pricing Service™, reporting high bid amounts and deal structure on transaction flow.
